Carrollton Wind Ensemble

The Carrollton Wind Ensemble is a resident ensemble of the Carrollton Center for the Arts.  Founded in 2011, and under the direction of Carroll Symphony Orchestra Conductor Terry Lowry, the CWE performs over 30 concerts a year in concert halls, schools, nursing homes, churches, local businesses and Veteran's Park events. This wonderful concert band is open to anyone who played an instrument in high school or college and rehearses each Tuesday evening at the Center for the Arts.  The CWE completed a successful concert tour of Italy in June of 2024 with concerts in Venice, Rome and Florence.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

The Carroll Symphony Orchestra enriches the lives of children and adults in our community by cultivating deep listening and sustained engagement with the living symphonic tradition—connecting music of the past with the creation of new work today.

Our seasons present a continuing exploration of the living symphonic tradition, connecting masterworks of the past with the creation of new music in the present. We return to major works often to allow both musicians and audiences to refine their understanding and find new meaning in extended musical forms. Our long-term artistic vision is to cultivate performances of increasing clarity, balance, and expressive integrity. In concert halls and through recordings, we seek to create experiences that help our community engage more profoundly with their own emotional and intellectual lives.
